Memory plays tricks as the years go by.
I visited Arundel Castle in Spring 2015 but only had time to visit the gardens and the Chapel on what was a lovely morning but it was so worth the effort.
As I enjoyed this latest visit my mind went back to the 1960s when I first visited the Castle. Since then I have been back at least once more. I had no memories of the gardens or the Chapel from these earlier visits but I did have a recollection of the gothic style of the interior. The only glimpse inside during my latest visit was to enjoy the coffee bar and the book shop (and the toilets). It was while I was enjoying the book shop that my memory of the interior was strongest. I recalled that it was a tad dark and sombre all those years ago but still impressive. I look forward to visiting the interior of the Castle again when I next visit which I hope will not be before too many more years elapse.
In the meantime, enjoy the picture of some of the tulips in the gardens during my visit. If you are in West Sussex during the remainder of 2015 then pay the Castle a visit and enjoy it for yourself.
